Born into a family where my father, an Air Force veteran, required my care from a young age, I learned resilience and responsibility early. Growing up, we relied on social programs, and I attended 12 schools in nine years, continually adapting to new environments and challenges. This early life taught me the value of perseverance and hard work. By age 12, I had already started working, picking up Spanish fluently along the way despite no one in my family speaking the language. My personal life has been marked by challenges, including disciplinary issues in school and walking over 1000 miles of the Appalachian Trail alone after college—an experience that taught me about solitude, endurance, and personal growth.
Early Career and Entrepreneurial Spirit
My professional journey began in earnest at 19 when I became an executive in the cigar industry. This role not only honed my business acumen but also allowed me to study under brilliant entrepreneurs, leading me to become a published writer within the industry. Seeking to further my education, I attended the University of Massachusetts at Boston, chosen for its generous financial aid program despite the absence of on-campus housing. There, I distinguished myself, receiving several awards and accolades.
Professional Background
With a rich career spanning over two decades, I have carved a niche in business consulting within the highly competitive home services sales and service sector. As a former Corporate Vice President of Trinity Solar, the largest privately-held solar company in America, I played a crucial role in the company’s exponential growth. My strategic vision and hands-on leadership helped grow our team from 50 to more than 500 dedicated professionals, significantly enhancing the company’s operational scale and attracting key investments.
Trials and Triumphs in Business
After college, I ventured into the construction industry with a loan of $27,500, which I repaid in a month, turning that venture into a $2 million-a-year remodeling company within 18 months. Despite the success, the 2008 economic collapse forced the business to dissolve, and I faced bankruptcy. Relocating to Maine for a fresh start, I set a record at the largest ski resort on the East Coast for their biggest event in a 50-year history—a testament to my resilience and ability to thrive under pressure.
A Journey Through Innovation and Growth
Returning to a more prosperous area for better educational and financial opportunities for my family, I again built a successful construction company, which I eventually sold to join GreenLine Innovations. Later, shifting to the solar industry led me to Trinity Solar, where I significantly contributed to scaling the operation from 700-800 employees to over 2000, boosting annual revenues from $300 million to over $700 million. My leadership in lead generation and branding was pivotal in driving the company’s growth.
My Approach to Business
I am driven by a passion for excellence and a steadfast belief in ethical leadership. My approach combines rigorous strategic planning with creative problem-solving, enabling businesses to thrive in dynamic markets. I focus on creating value by identifying unique opportunities that lead to sustained growth and profitability. Throughout my career, I have prioritized fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence—values that I instill in every team I lead.
